Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
Folded this one pre-flop in my .5/1 full table paradise game. The 9 was suited to one of the rockets.
I felt that without a chance for low and hardly any chance for hitting my set a fold was called for. Im thinking if I play this one then I may as well see the flop with any Axs as well. Thanks for any thoughts. |

Meh, fold.
With a wheel card, limp. |

Re: Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
There's no way you can consider playing that whatsoever. It's not a scooping hand. AAA2s is very playable, AAA3s may be playable.. AAA4 and AAA5 are pretty weak though.

Re: Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
in limit games I would not play this. BUt in PLO8 MTTs I have raised with this mid to late in MTTs because with 3 As u can be sure that no1 else has A2 or something like that and is likely to fold. also, if ur going to play plo8 u can open for a raise with this in CO or button for a steal or something like that

Re: Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
Easy fold.
The only trips I play are AAA2s and AAA3s. Maybe A222s. I suspect I would not see a big difference in my results if I also folded these. |

Re: Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
I think trip and quad aces all depend on the game. If it is a tight game I think coming in for raise is good, because if your opponents need an ace to play they don't have any. Of course, the only way I would ever come in with AAAA would be in the big blind or a steal. You don't really want to call with AAAx unless there are limpers and that x is a 2.

Re: Quick starting hand question AAA9s LO8
in super tight game, great point that if players need ace to play, you're in good shape to steal. other than that....dump, always
