Re: JJ vs. thac - NL$100
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] This isn't really a matter of him playing well or not; it's mostly a matter of style [/ QUOTE ] Then what is the point of this thread? Seriously [/ QUOTE ] The point of this thread is that just because we're ahead of his flop calling range doesn't mean that we can continue the hand profitably with a marginal holding OOP against a good aggressive player. I think this is pretty basic, honestly. I mean we're considering C/RAI as the best of a bunch of bad options, even though a C/RAI never gets called by worse and we're likely drawing dead or close to it if he does call. Shouldn't alarm bells be going off at this point? |

Re: JJ vs. thac - NL$100
[ QUOTE ]
Not saying I agree or disagree that flatting the flop with a FD or set is a bad play, but if it's got people contemplating a crai or saying 'if he bets or raises turn he is bluffing as he never has a set or flush' then surely flatting on the flop with these hands is going to be pretty profitable? [/ QUOTE ] This is 100% correct. Saying that villain played his set/flush poorly after he takes our stack on the turn is laughable. |

Re: JJ vs. thac - NL$100
Could you explain to me why flatting AJdd on this flop is such a bad play? As a standard I virtually always raise it, but I thought that it was a matter of preference and playing style.

Wow, I mean wtf.
"Playing huge pots against good regs OOP with weak hands is bad." [ ] Agree [ ] Disagree I'm simply astounded that this is controversial. For [censored] and giggles, look at the x-post of this hand in SSNL and compare the responses there. |
