why the hell does his stack size affect his range? to be honest we're drawing to boat outs here the vast majority of the time. I can't say I'd be folding it but him starting with a halfstack if anything makes it closer to a muck on this turn than a call or shove.

16/0/1 is a huge nit but its only 52 hands - maybe they have jsut been card dead

Range 99+, TJ+

I'm not sure I'm worried about the flush with both the Q and J there because that means he either limps UTG ATss (and KTss) and less or he has exactly AKss.

I'm sure against his range and this board you have ample equity to get it all in there.

That's over 8 orbits. In 8 orbits he hasn't raised once, and has been quite passive postflop. How much more of a sample do you need? The only question is exactly how huge of a nit he is.

Exactly. Nobody has yet explained why stack size matters here. It's just LOL Villain is kinda short stack instashove huge +EV spot. Nice reasoning, everyone. Whatever, I guess, no sense arguing any more about it.

No way I fold a set to a short stack here.

[/ QUOTE ]

Does ANYONE have an actual reason for this opinion?

Think Sklansky bucks. Villain is not getting odds pre-flop to chase a flush or set mine and isn't getting odds to catch the flush on the turn (after you factor in the % of the time hero will boat up). Plus a short stack should never fold AA or KK here.
