QQ: no overcards, I fold flop
Resort 20-40 live game, 10 handed. Two villains in this hand. I just sat down and don't have much of a read. Villain 1 is BB and not very good. He cold calls too much and his stack has dwindled quite a bit in the first 5 minutes I've been there. Villain 2 is in MP1, he also coldcalls too much and can get spazzy at times post flop in weird spots.
Hero is UTG with QQ. Hero raises, folds to MP1 who 3bets, folds to BB who calls, Hero caps, all call. Flop (3 players for 9.5sb): 972r BB bets, Hero pukes on himself and just calls (wtf), MP1 raises, BB 3bets, Hero folds. Flame away, how bad did I play this? My plan was to call the flop with the intention of raising the turn. |

puke when BB shows A9s and other guy shows JJ [/ QUOTE ] So I assume you raise the flop and go from there? |

Re: QQ: no overcards, I fold flop
You just represented AK which will make a whole range full of hands go nuts to get you out.
Raise the flop and let's see what everyone does on the turn. |

Re: QQ: no overcards, I fold flop
For some reason I thought BB's range was heavily weighted towards 99, AA and KK. I also thought that MP1 had JJ+, but it could get messy for me if he has AA or KK, so I got out of there. Right after I folded, I thought: I'm going to pissed if it's A9 vs. JJ.

My thought was these guys were both representing pretty big hands and QQ was unlikely ahead. I know the call on the flop isn't correct... but as played do you call the 3bet, cap or fold? |

I know the call on the flop isn't correct... but as played do you call the 3bet, cap or fold? [/ QUOTE ] This is inherently a very tough decision because you're between a BB who could be playing a set very well and a player who is representing a big pair. If you're working on a four bet cap structure, I'd cap to maintain the initiative. If its a five bet cap, I'd call and see what happens. Folding isn't terrible if you're convinced you're beaten, but that read is inconsistent with the player descriptions you've provided. |

yeah, raise the flop, call down if 3 bet [/ QUOTE ] I agree with Chino here. We need to at least raise the flop and see what happens from there. I need more of a reason to believe I'm beaten in this huge pot to fold. |
