Default Beau Rivage trip coming up. Need some help

First off: Mods if there's something like this somewhere, lock it up and send me there.

So I'm in Pensacola, FL for a week and would like to go over to the Beau Rivage with my wife for a night (our honeymoon was there((and New Orleans)).

I'm thinking of staying Monday, July 23.

I want to play poker for about 8-10 hours as well as go see the show with my wife and have dinner.

What kind of poker room rate is there and can we get free dinner or tickets for the show?

I just really want a poker fix and my wife has agreed to hang out by the pool, etc..

Who do I talk to for room rates/comps?

Thanks.

Call poker room and ask for Donna for room rate. Should be around $80-$100 with 5 hours of play. The brush will comp you two buffets whenever you want. All you have to do is ask. Donna may be able to work out the show tickets also but I'm not sure.

Thanks...Will do. I was hoping the buffet thing would be like Tunica. Told my wife the room will be affordable and hopefully 'free' food. I'll talk with Donna and see if we can maybe get a discount on the tickets. That would be great. Just want to play some cards.

Thanks again.

The new steakhouse at the top of the Imperial Palace is really really good. I recommend taking your wife there for a great experience with a fabulous view. I find the food at the Beau to be underwhelming.

Or right next door at the Hard Rock they put in a Ruth's Chris.

Immediately next to the poker room at Beau they have a steakhouse open again but i haven't tried it yet.

If you like sushi a buddy of mine who is a sushi guy said Jai in the Beau (right by the poker room) has pretty good sushi.

Crud...
Steakhouse at IP. Free Buffet..or.

Just went downstairs and told my wife the new goal is to win enough to take her to Ruth's Chris for supper. She looks at me and smiles.

If you use your winnings for 'good', it's much better.

Here's hoping.

Thanks again for the posts. Really hope we can pull this off (my folks have to watch the kids)

If you want the best steak on the coast, go to BR Prime in the Beau, it is comparable to Delmanicos in Vegas. There are several other great selections outside the Beau. 300 year old Merry Mahoneys is across the street, the new Gulf Coast Fish House by Emeril is open, very good. If you would like any other info, drop me a line.

Kenny,
Thanks. I'm probably gonna call Donna tomorrow am and see what I can set up. I think we'll come over July 22 (sunday) noon ish. Go back to Pensacola Monday am.

That's the goal.

Do you know if they have any comp (discount) at the other food places at the Beau? (ie..BR Prime)

I'm, of course, a typical hack poker player so will probably want to play $1/2no limit or maybe $4/8.
I'd be more comfortable playing 4/8, but I feel like I can just play ABC no limit at the 1/2 and do ok. I'll have about 500-750 with me to play with (hope to help with any swings).

Only one night, so thinking that should be enough for 1/2 playing ABC. (I know it's enough for 4/8)

I read on here that on weekends the 'good' crew comes in and plays 2/5 5/10 no limit, so the 1/2 is fishy. I really want to make this trip a wash with a great meal for my wife. I love playing and don't get to play much right now.

Any other thoughts/suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Default crazy work right now

It's totally crazy right now as I'm trying to finish up 2 big projects before we leave Sunday (we'll be gone for a week and half or so).

It's 11:30 and I've got 4/5 more hours tonight to do (and 2 more 12-14 hour days) to be ready to go.

Self employed is great, but it's a killer sometimes.

I'm VERY ready to get away for awhile. I'm thinking of going over to Ebro (near Destin) for one night as well.

Lots of caffeine (and one Smithwicks)..sorry..

babbling.

The Beau has you swipe your player card at the table when you sit down, I don't know what the comp rate is, I haven't checked my card to see how much is on it in awhile.

All NL games at the Beau are uncapped, the 1-2 NL games can get wild and deep, it's a very nice.

Check out the coast night club, usually some decent bands playing there in the Beau. Go next door and walk around the newely opened Hard Rock Casino, it's nice.

Is this your first trip to the Beau? The cocktail waitress are hard to beat, and I have been to Vegas.

At BR Prime, order the 32 oz Bone-In Ribeye, you will thank me later. If you have any other questions about the Beau, or the coast in general, shot me an email at msu202020@aol.com. Have a great time.
