In my mind "action" and agreeing to run it twice and buying insurance are opposites. I hope we don't get teased with big pots only to have them split or have the players negotiate down to a much smaller amount.

I always laugh a bit when I hear about these pros in high stakes cash games running the river - TWICE. Granted, everything is relative, but if these players are going to be allowed to run the river more than once, for god sakes, run it three times! All you're doing is reducing variance, so if players are up for making a deal to do just that, then they should always run it 3 times.

I have to assume they are only allowed to run it two times on the show - but if they're allowed to run it three, there's no reason *not* to run it 3 times if they have the option.

If they don't have the option - shame on the producers. Gabe can explain it to the viewers at home. There's a lot of money involved.

They are allowed to run it 3 times. But what's wrong with just twice? If they want I'm sure the producers will let them put the cards into PokerStove and split the pot exactly according to their equity which would reduce the variance to the minimum but what's the fun in that?

Runnning twice is kinda lame imo, and also what I don't get is players who iso themselves w/ big raise in a field of limpers and then split the pot among themselves somewhere in the hand, this has happened a few times if i remember correctly. Wouldn't you be pissed if you were one of the limpers and shouldn't that not be allowed?

If you folded your hand you have no more interest in the pot. What the remaining players do after that has no effect on you.

Lol don't you understand this is happens all the time in games where people work together to isolate people's money by raising hard against each other. Two players could easily raise hard against each other w/ marginal holdings and split everyone elses money that's in no way accepted.

That's called 'collusion' and banning pot splitting there won't help since the players can just split the money after the game is over if that's what they are doing.
