so is SL like limit in that it is capped at four full bets? Ive never played or even come across SL here in LA yet but I am going to be moving to either Portland, OR or Seattle, WA early next year and want to be prepared when I do sit down at the table.

I was told by a regular in the Washington games that it is indeed capped at 4 bets per round even HU. Here in AZ there is no cap HU. Aka it varies from room to room.

But like in any game, you will find people making big mistakes. Like betting $8 into an $80 pot on the river instead of $10 in a 2/10 spread game. I have played it before in Laughlin for a whole weekend, and another time for 4 hours in MN. And of course, the 5/150 game at CAZ, but when I hear spread limit, I think of the minor stuff like 2/6 and 2/12, not 5/150, because the max bet isn't reached anywhere close to every hand.
