Default 5/10 Heads Up No Limit

Is it ever okay to bet on a river like this with ace high when you expect that the other player has a king or ace high a large part of the time but won't probably look you up with hands like that. The reason I bet was because I didn't want to chop. Most of the time I will check on the river but this time I bet for the above reasons. Just curious if this is every done by any of you.
