Re: didn\'t expect his river bet... what to do?
Yeah basically what ejay said.
I'd call initially pf but fold to the raise unless at least 1 or 2 other people had called the raise as well. As played I'd flat call river probably. Needed to raise to the turn more to charge flush draws, and simply to get more money in the pot. |

sorry for being the ignorant one... but where are you getting the stats at the top of your post and what do they mean? I see them a lot and wonder what they mean exactly.

Re: didn\'t expect his river bet... what to do?
I would be tempted to think that he back doored a straight with maybe something like J7. People do backdoor flushes but it seems like that might not be the case looking at the JH on the flop. I dunno, but he could also have slow played a set here and you may have him beat. I would at least call here and be more persuaded by the fact that he would more likely have a 7 than 2 hearts. Hell I might push here depending on my read. Did you have any reads on this guy, notice any betting patterns, was this guy moving his chips on you a lot. Could be a bluff trying to scare you off with the river heart and possible straight (if he is a donkey maybe). I would at least call here.

Re: didn\'t expect his river bet... what to do?
this is a call. The pot is huge, he would need to AKs or maybe even Axs, but I think you have to call it and then make some notes afterwards.

Re: didn\'t expect his river bet... what to do?
Hero, you have to bet the turn heavier..maybe 70 or so. I'd expect to see a flush here maybe 75 percent of the time. He raised preflop and his likely holding could very well include the ace of hearts.maybe AQ/AK. It's 50/50 what you shoul do here but this line smells very much like flush with 2 overcards as his holdings.
