Re: flop set on pretty board, get stacked
I can understand c/c-ing the flop because it's such a dry board. However, you flopped a set and you want to get your stack in. You'll typically have better results if you
(1) don't slowplay unless you have a good reason to and a plan for extracting as much value as possible. In this hand, you don't really seem to have a great plan for getting your stack in, as evidenced by your $6 river bet. (2) Make bets that allow you to naturally get your stack in. In this hand, I think either of the following lines would have been better: a. bet 2/3 pot on flop, 2/3 pot on the river, and shoved roughly 1/2 pot on the river. b. c/c flop, lead turn, shove river. With your stack size, you don't really need any help to get your stack in, so there's no need to get tricky with the check/raising. If he has any kind of a hand you'll be able to get it in just by betting. |
