200PLO: Wrap facing a big raise.
Comments on all action is appreciated. Very new to PLO.
Villain had been playing a lot of pots and is fairly aggressive. But most of this aggressiveness was in the form of donking a lot of flops. Full Tilt Poker Pot Limit Omaha Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: Hero: $221 UTG+1: $200.40 CO: $55 Button: $252.65 SB: $54.20 BB: $302.30 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero raises to $7, 4 folds, BB calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($15, 2 players) BB checks, Hero bets $15, BB raises to $60, Hero ???? |

Re: 200PLO: Wrap facing a big raise.
Couldn't you just call here with position? Are you much of a favourite over anything that check-raises this flop, and will he fold anything?

Re: 200PLO: Wrap facing a big raise.
No you shove because with your overpair + tons of blockers you can be a huge favorite over a bare wrap and flipping with almost everything else.

Re: 200PLO: Wrap facing a big raise.
bet/shove looks pretty standard here. You are ahead of most two pair hands. Most aggro villains flop checkraising ranges are wide enough that he might try this with a hand like AJ108 or some other pair/straight draw combo hand, which you are in great shape against. I think if you were somewhat deeper bet/call would be OK just to try and spike your straight, but the problem with that line here is if he is making this move with a better wrap and no pair you allow hime to play it perfectly by calling. If you call and he decides to shove a blank turn or one that pairs the board you are in a bad spot. If a J or a Q come on the turn, he may have made bigger straight if he was checkraising a KQJx type hand. Your not in bad shape against almost any thing here since you have an overpair, 16 outs to a straight (11 to the nut straight), a backdoor flush draw, and board pairing outs against two pair. With close to 100bb stacks you need to just put the money in here.

Re: 200PLO: Wrap facing a big raise.
Yeah, looks like everyone else covered it. Easy, easy shove here. You've got 16 outs to the nuts plus a hand that can hold up UI if villian's got a worse wrap with no overpair. Also, against two pair, we have 19 outs on the flop and 22 on a blank turn making us solid favorites.

shove, the overpair is an important part of your hand here.
