3-ball the turn with bottom 2 multiway?
MP is a TAG who's overaggressive in spots, 21/18/2.2, but still a decent player.
SB is a maniac, running 62/55 and just as aggressive post flop. He 100% is on a straight or flush draw IMO. Is this an easy bet? Tough bet? Easy call? I think i call down from the turn reraise, at best the 3-bet is a valuebet against qj,kq,aq. I think this is a spot with a lot of reversed implied odds.

Re: 3-ball the turn with bottom 2 multiway?
MP is usually going to 3bet the flop with a set or QT on this flop. You have a lot of equity and are getting 2-to-1 on each bet that goes in, so this is an easy 3bet in my opinion.
Now spike the 7h on the river and drag a huge pot. |

Re: 3-ball the turn with bottom 2 multiway?
The fact that it's a good idea to fastplay a set on this flop plus the fact that the TAG is overaggressive causes me to discount sets to close to 0% at this point (maybe 10-20%?). Now if he caps the turn, I reassess and weight sets or QT much more heavily. But I'm weighting his hand to AQ/KQ/QJ very heavily.
Overpairs and sets don't just flat call the flop and wait for the turn very often. There was just a thread about infrequently situations arise for that play. While waiting for the turn to raise with an overpair or set here wouldn't be awful, it's not a particularly good play in this spot and certainly something that I would be very surprised to see. And realistically it doesn't matter because your equity is so good and you're getting 2-to-1 on your money. You can weight sets and overpairs heavily and you still have a (much thinner) value raise. |
