Shawn filed the habeas corpus because Immigration was contesting his bail. Immigration withdrew their appeal, so he dropped the habeas corpus. (I'm not a lawyer, I just have a pacer account). The only interesting thing I read in his filings was he owns 6 Diversity parlours, is negotiating a real estate deal to develop a strip mall containing another Diversity parlour, he has multiple real estate investments and apparently is a "famous professional poker player". There is nothing about guilt or innocence, just that he's not a flight risk.

That cost me $2, I hope it was worth it to y'all.

BTW, I could not find any other cases under the last name Sheikhan, so unless I'm doing the search wrong (very likely) it appears Sheiky hasn't had any cases in the Nevada district court before.

This is what everyone is misunderstanding. The US has MANDATORY deportation laws for immigrants who have been convicted of crimes, even if they were non-violent (although "sexual battery" could be considered a violent crime). Immigrants have been deported for lesser crimes, like shoplifting.

Whether this legislation is right or not is a matter of opinion. But the US has every right, and duty, to enforce the legislation it passes. Just because Sheiky was arrested, convicted and put in jail doesn't shield him from the mandatory deportation laws.

Also, how are we so sure that it was "just" statutory rape? Even if it were, how would you feel if you were the father of a 15 year old daughter, and she had sex, consensual or unconsensual, with a man Sheiky's age?

And I agree with a previous poster, there are few things, if any, more disgusting IMO than child molestation.

Oh and BTW, IMO moral turpitude is usually things like forgery, fraud, embezzlement etc...

Clearly Sheiky is a risk to America, i mean he committed a crime 12 years ago, served his time, and is not white.

Homeland Security, securing the homeland one Iranian immigrant at a time.

Im too lazy to insert the pic, but "Would someone PLEASE think of the children". Guy has a 9 yr old daughter with his American wife - if Sheiky gets deported then he didnt get an expensive enough lawyer.

Plus if he gets deported he will almost certainly be able to claim asylum in Canada or Britain or somewhere like that.
