Preflop: Hero is BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
UTG raises to $0.85, 3 folds, Hero calls $0.60.

Flop: ($1.80) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: $11.30

Was the laydown okay? I din't fancy OOP re-raise pre-flop.

i think villain got like AT, AJ, AQ , AK or something like KQ, KQs

so you are only behind AK or AA
i think i would call this here he can also have a FD but often he just hit an ace

its more like a way ahead / way behind situation

I might call that flop instead of raising. Against unknowns w/TP I tend to try to play small pots and see what their betting patterns are.

As played, since you smooth-called from BB with your hand, the villian may assume you have a crappy BB hand which may entice that small raise. Another possibility is that they're raising with a hand that's scared of the Ace (that is a weird sized c-bet that they made.) All that said, I'm still not sure I would call his raise since I am not comfortable with playing later streets UI.

I'm curious about what the more experienced players do here, too, though.

I might like to call this, check the turn and see what he does. Smaller bets would signal danger, some overlarge bet I might call it.

I will sometimes cool call from the BB here, but against an unknown, I'll probably reraise specifically because I am OOP and want to take the initiative with a TP type hand.

Since you did just cool call, I could see either check/raising as you did on the flop, or playing it passively to the river, but I would probably be committed to showing this down if I played it passively.

Once he 3 bets your checkraise on the flop, it's a tough spot, but I think I would fold even though there's a good chance you're ahead. He's got position on you, and has announced he's willing to play a big pot.

Villain made a pot sized raise preflop and has a double stack. I would give him some credit. I think the flop 3bet is rarely a bluff and you can fold here. and you will see AK and set more then AJ, AT, or air.
I think check raising with your hand is bad. i either lead or check call the flop.

I call, then bet out on the turn. Checking the turn is bad because you still have no idea where you are, and a C/R is too expensive to find out.
