Default PokerStars doesn\'t work on Macs???

My buddy (anti-forums, he's weird) has a Mac and he can only download Full Tilt on there. He has tried to download PS and it won't let him. Any way around this or do Macs just suck or is something wrong with his? Thanks.

I own a Mac and run Windows through a program through boot camp.

I love my Mac and it takes about 45 seconds - 1 minute to switch from one to the other.

Stars right now is not available on a Mac but will be soon. They have been testing it for months and can be done on a mac using play money. If your friend is interested tell him to contact stars. I think the mac version should be out within a few months. Possibly sooner.

Thank you, I had a feeling that was it. So I assume you can run PS through that boot camp program?

Do us a favor. Don't even bother replying next time. Your comment is neither clever or funny and only intended to start a flamewar. He clearly stated it was a mac related question in the title and you're coming here to post nonsense is just instigation.

Awwww I think I hurt someones feelings. Pardon me for replying with sarcasm. My reply was somewhat truthful - regarding playing poker on a MAC, and the fact that PStars doesnt have a MAC client.

Someone needs a Xanex I think.

I have a low tollerance for 'noise' posts. The post was every bit as helpful as a "use the search" reply. I digress though, because I'm not turning this topic into noise myself.

To OP, tell your friend to wait a few weeks if he's interested in stars. I've been told that the stars mac client may be out publicly by October.

Hello,

There are a number of options available for Mac players at the moment. As one poster as already mentioned you can use Apple boot camp (which is currently in beta) to run Windows on your intel based Mac.

Bootcamp (beta) by Apple
http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/

There are also several virtualization options as well available to run Windows as a virtual machine within MacOS.

Parallels Desktop for Mac ($79, with a free trial version available)
http://www.parallels.com

VMware Fusion ($79, with a free trial version available)
http://www.vmware.com/products/fusion/

If your friend is running a PowerPC Mac he can use VirtualPC from Microsoft.

Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac:
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/product...virtualpc.aspx

Of these solutions, Parallels and VMware are probably the solutions a MacOS user would most prefer to use. When using a virtual machine in this manner, the PokerStars install program may not work. If this is so, you will need
to install first on a PC, and then copy the PokerStars folder to your
Mac. The subsequent program updates do seem to work though.

Hope that helps.
