Default Basic strategy for breaking 9\'s on second draw

I find myself in situations where I need to decide whether to break a 9 and wanted some advice on what are most important considerations

example, I have 2468x and draw 1 to make a 24689. Should I keep it or break it if its:

HU and I have position he draws 2?
HU and I have position he draws 1?
HU I am out of position?
vs. 2 opponents who both draw 2?
Do your answers change to any of the above if my hand is 24789?
do your answers change if I have 23479?

thx,
-g

I'm new to this game, but is it really much of a decision to break a nine or not -- how much showdown value does a nine have?

I'm 95% breaking a 9 unless i know the player to be a tool.

Here is what I do, but I might not be correct.

HU and I have position he draws 2?
I keep the nine and bet/raise the next street. If he draws again, I keep the nine, if he stands pat, I break it or fold an 86, usually depending on the player.

HU and I have position he draws 1?
I usually stand pat. If he leads I'll call, if he checks I'll bet. If he c/r, I fold. If I call and he draws, keep the nine and see what happens on the next street.

HU I am out of position?
On the second round, I stand pat and see what he does. If he draws two, I lead out and stand pat. If he draws one, I'll lead and usually fold to a raise. I don't like to play an 86 OOP any time, but especially in a relatively small pot. I'd probably give it up, depending on the pot size.

vs. 2 opponents who both draw 2?
I'd break this 9, but I don't know if that is correct or not.

yes

do your answers change if I have 23479?
yes

I'm pretty sure that this advice is not correct.
