There's another possibility being reported about Lott's reason for resigning. His brother-in-law, Dickie Scruggs, had his legal office raided by the FBI the other day. It is alleged he participated in rampant fraud over Hurricane Katrina insurance claims. Scruggs made a fortune on the tobacco settlement (extortion) partly because of his connection to Lott. Lott and Scruggs...hopefully they both go down.
