Default Stardust Las Vegas closing 12:01am 11/1/06

I bid a fond farewell to the Las Vegas icon the Stardust. Today is the last day that it will EVER be open. It will soon be demolished to make way to the new Eschelon Place, a $5 billion mega resort by Boyd Gaming.

They are having an inventory auction from Nov 17-21.
Here are the details:

November 17 - 21
Items from the Stardust Hotel and Casino will be up for public auction beginning on Friday, November 17. Prior to the acution, inspection dates are available as follows:

Monday, November 13 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Tuesday, November 14 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Wednesday, November 15 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Thursday, November 16 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Sale starts each day at 11:00AM Pacific time and will run until all scheduled items are sold. You can bid live or online. You can register today at www.greatamerican.com or for more information call 818-884-3747, EXT 340. There is no cost to register. The list of items included each day may be modified slightly as need dictates. We are tagging and photographing the items now.

Friday, Novermber 17

* Casino Floor and Tables, (no slots will be sold) Sportsbook, Consumer Collectibles

Saturday, November 18

* Art, Antiques, Collectibles, Signage, Photos

Sunday, November 19

* Art, Antiques, Collectibles, Signage, Photos

Monday, November 20

* (mostly for professional buyers) Cooking equipment, Landscaping, generators, Suite furnishings etc.

Tuesday, November 21

* Facility assets, Office furnishings, miscellaneous, odds and ends


Memorabilia & Collectibles, Gaming Tables, Restaurant Equipment, Coffee Shop, Complete Buffet, Bar Equipment, Landscaping, 1,500+ Rooms of Furniture, Electronics, Sound Systems, Surveillance Equipment, Complete Convention Facility, Office Furnishings, Cash Rooms, Sportsbook, Building Maintenance, Vehicles and so much more!

Must not hang around Vegas that often. It has been talked about in and around Vegas for over a year now. Even the specific closing date was talked about much earlier this year. Doesn't get a lot of talk on this board though, as the poker room is pretty much 3/6LHE only and is all older locals.

This was announced to be closing late 2006 about a year and a half ago. The actual date was announced in March it was I believe.

I can't even begin to tell you the amount of sadness I have for the closing of the Stardust. Why couldn't they implode the Frontier instead?!!!


Wish I could be at the auction, but am too busy that week to visit Vegas.

I think the Frontier is also gone this year. Maybe Dec. 1

no, dont hang in vegas much, but I thought I would hear something about this large of a place closing.
