Stardust Las Vegas closing 12:01am 11/1/06
I bid a fond farewell to the Las Vegas icon the Stardust. Today is the last day that it will EVER be open. It will soon be demolished to make way to the new Eschelon Place, a $5 billion mega resort by Boyd Gaming.
They are having an inventory auction from Nov 17-21. Here are the details: [ QUOTE ] Stardust Inventory Auction November 17 - 21 Items from the Stardust Hotel and Casino will be up for public auction beginning on Friday, November 17. Prior to the acution, inspection dates are available as follows: Monday, November 13 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Tuesday, November 14 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Wednesday, November 15 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Thursday, November 16 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Sale starts each day at 11:00AM Pacific time and will run until all scheduled items are sold. The list of items included each day may be modified slightly as need dictates. We are tagging and photographing the items now. Even the specific closing date was talked about much earlier this year. Doesn't get a lot of talk on this board though, as the poker room is pretty much 3/6LHE only and is all older locals.

I can't even begin to tell you the amount of sadness I have for the closing of the Stardust. Why couldn't they implode the Frontier instead?!!!
Wish I could be at the auction, but am too busy that week to visit Vegas. AB
