Default Casino hotel room quality: Aladdin vs. Sahara & Stratosphere

OK, so I'm trying to go to Vegas on the cheap in September. I've found a $69 one-way flight with a free pass to get home and to make another previous stop, and may rent a car at $20/day. That leaves hotel.

I'm extremely tempted by the great deal of $59/night at the Aladdin previously posted here. However, either Sahara or Stratosphere would be about $40/night, which is a difference of nearly $80 for a four-night trip. I've stayed at Sahara previously and don't object to it but would like a little variety; haven't stayed at Stratosphere but it's convenient to the Sahara for tournaments.

So, getting to my question, is the quality of the rooms at Aladdin vastly superior to those at Sahara or Stratosphere? Is it worth an extra $80 for the trip? I'm thinking yes but am also trying to pinch pennies, and that $80 could be lunch and a tournament buy-in. I will be spending a lot of time in the room as I'm traveling alone and plan to mostly nap, eat, play poker, and generally relax.

I have stayed a both places, and the Aladdin is worth and extra 80 bucks if you care. The Sahara is a little out of the way, and a little bit on the way down. The last time I was in town I stayed at the IP since I was playing mainly at Ceaser's, wasn't too bad at all, I think it was around 40 a night too.

Out of the three Aladdin is easily the newest/nicest, but the poker room is in the middle of the casino floor right now, so don't plan on playing there (unless you like the typical casino noise/distractions)
PF Changes is right there, so that is a plus, but the parking situation at Aladdin is one of the worst in town (a mile walk to your car, through the mall)
The choice is yours.

Aladdin's rooms are much nicer. Do some homework on where you're playing your tourneys and if they're all on the strip, maybe you won't need that car at all; otherwise, if you're going to be travelling/driving a lot, stay at one of the cheaper places.

Remember, bus is also cheaper than car.

Aladdin has much nicer rooms, and location is MUCH better.

About that -- I was wondering whether that might not actually be a good situation as far as attracting folks who may just wander up and want to give playing poker a shot, are on vacation and might not mind giving away some money.

Thanks very much for the replies. I've also considered Imperial Palace because of price and location. Really, anywhere with high-speed Internet in the room will be acceptable since I'm obligated to stay in touch with work while I'm away.

Aladdin rooms ARE NOT much better than Stratosphere. They are better, but not by that much. They are significantly better than rooms at Sahara.

But the real thing here is location. Do you want to be center strip, or do you want to be way at the north end where you have to take some mode of transportation other than your feet to get anywhere other than Sahara or Strat. I'll also note that food choices at Strat are weak and the buffet is awful.

You might want to look into this, but I think there was free, or very inexpensive high speed internet at IP.....

Actually, the poker room at Aladdin is moving into the High Limit Lounge/gaming area upstairs away from the hellacious noise on the main casino floor for one last temporary move before the new room gets built (where the sports book is currently)
