Default Another step forward for West Virginia poker

The full House passed the bill Friday and the tax may be lowered to a more reasonable level in the Senate. I hope the Racing Association knows it is playing with fire...If they lower the tax rate too much they risk losing support of the House when it comes up for final approval. The Senate will address the bill this week.

"Doyle, who successfully amended the bill Thursday with measures meant to preserve and enhance the state’s racing and breeding industries, said the bill passed by the House Friday, fails Charles Town Races & Slots, the track in his district which is owned by Penn National Gaming Inc. of Wyomissing, Pa.

He predicted Friday that his county’s voters would reject table games unless further such measures are added."
