You should be able to play 1/2 if you're good at .50/1. PL is kind of weak at all levels but I still don't play it. The tourneys can be brutal. But don't get discouraged!

0.50/1 fixed is actually my favourite game. Problem with it is that usually all tables are completely full or completely empty.

0.25/0.50 PL (I don't play PL above this limit, though) I usually find very beatable and sometimes even a goldmine. However, it CAN be disappointing at times, if your Ace-high Flush is beaten (or re-raised big time) by a full house for example. That's why I prefer fixed limit.

I might consider moving up to 1/2, but I want to build up my bankroll again (I cashed out 50% a few weeks ago).

Won the 1:15 again today. Seems like if you can avoid running into monsters, and stay aggressive preflop with good value bets postflop, you can give yourself a shot to win everytime you play. I've never had anywheres near this kind of consistency in other types of tourneys.

I think if someone is getting blinded out on a regular basis, they probably aren't being aggressive enough. If its a big time cold deck, so be it...but one thing that stands out to me, is that the pots won without showdown are heavily skewed towards the more successful players. And at the same time, the people who are checking the best hand at showdown also seem to be more prone to coming up short.

Its almost like a cash game, in that its important to extract every bit of value you can all the way through.

I agree with you, but many of us, such as Tom Bayes, can testify that sometimes that's not good enough. I've gone from having 1 BB in my stack to second place, as well as the chip leader to losing out of the money. I think you have a point that many good players aren't agressive enough postdraw, especially against these stations, but with even a semi-cold deck they WILL call you down enough that you need to have at least aces to go to a showdown, something that will often elude you for a long period of time.

168 hands played:
- cards drawn 24 times (14%)
- won when drawing 9 times (37%)
Pots won at showdown - 9 out of 17 (52%)
Pots won without showdown - 24
--------------
340 hands played:
- cards drawn 66 times (19%)
- won when drawing 27 times (40%)
Pots won at showdown - 30 out of 52 (57%)
Pots won without showdown - 51
--------------
117 hands played:
- cards drawn 20 times (17%)
- won when drawing 7 times (35%)

Pots won at showdown - 7 out of 14 (50%)
Pots won without showdown - 10
-------------
154 hands played:
- cards drawn 24 times (15%)
- won when drawing 6 times (25%)
Pots won at showdown - 7 out of 17 (41%)
Pots won without showdown - 18
---------------
191 hands played:
- cards drawn 38 times (19%)
- won when drawing 12 times (31%)
Pots won at showdown - 12 out of 24 (50%)
Pots won without showdown - 32
-----------------

These are my tourney stats for the last 5 of these 10+1's I've played. I think where we differ is the idea that they are a bunch of calling stations. Pretty consistently I've been winning the same or more hands uncontested than hands that I've gone to showdown (which I win about half of).

Maybe a couple others could pull up stats of this nature, and we can compare and contrast?
