Default Data execution prevention message

I turn on my comp this morning and I get a message that says:

Data Execution Prevention

To help protect your computer, windows has closed this program.

Name: Windows explorer
Publisher: Microsoft

There's a button that says "close message," so I click on it, then 10 seconds later the same window pops up again. So now I'm just leaving it there. wtf does this mean?

program data is organized in a few sections, some sections are intended to store values and a section intended to store code to be executed by the CPU.

the 'text' section is supposed to store executable codes, the call stack stores stuff like local variables so some operating systems prevent data in certain locations like the stack to be executed for security.
