no-one plays perfect poker. In general, you will either error on the side of not putting enough money in the pot or putting too much money in. I see the latter as "spew". Hence the statement "if you aren't spewing sometimes then you are probably playing like a vag" holds true.

[/ QUOTE ]
Agree. This is what's referred to in OP though.

I don't get this at all. Having had a bad session doesn't necessarily mean having been spewy. A multistreet bluff for example always looks like spew if you get called. Now if this happens three times within a session, this just qualifies as spew whereas it's close to standard if the bluffs work out?
Blaming poor winrates on spew is probably like blaming them on running bad - it just palliates some substantial mistakes we're making every session.

This became a discussion on semantics. Imo spew is putting a lot of money in the pot in spots where you should not. This doesn't necessarily mean making big mistakes or idiotic plays.

When OP said: "OK, so I sit down this afternoon and play like an idiot." I did not take it he meant: "OK, so I sit down this afternoon and lose alot by making some marginally bad decisions."

i don't tilt hardly at all, but i feel spewey from time to time.

i think it has to do with all your bluffs being called in 1 session, it's just variance. if you are getting no respect and you continue to bluff like a maniac then that is spew, and is just bad poker, plain and simple

Perhaps a lot of the spew we are talking about is results oriented. We have a session where we bluff a lot and it all comes off, we are god's gift to poker. Another time we lose 4 BIs and feel like an idiot.

I dumped a few buyin's last night. I tilt very rarely, but something wound me up last night. It's more embarrassing than anything esle. And it does suck that I have to grind the money back when I basically gave it away.
