Hi, this may seem retarded but I can't figure out how to input two random cards of one particular suit for the villian's range in pokerstove. Does XdYd work?

Sure it is. Click a player number button and go to the Preflop tab. For spades, click "Any suited" and then deselect the suits you don't want (in the button group in the lower right corner).

Or you could manually enter (or cut and paste):
