Current blackjack conditions at Reno NV
Hello,
How are current BJ conditions at the Peppermill Reno? Can you get "RULE OF 7"? Double on any 2? what are the minimums? |

Re: Current blackjack conditions at Reno NV
CBJN doesn't list "rule of X" conditions, I guess because it's dealer dependent. peppermill almost all $5 single deck, double 10 or 11 only. about 60% pen so that's just over 30 cards dealt - whatever number of hands that's equivalent to.
you can still find single deck, double on anything at Nugget, Siena, Baldini, and a few other Sparks casinos. |

CBJN lists limits, # decks, pen, doubling rules, H17 vs. S17 and also lists other variations.
What do you mean by Rule of 7? Do you mean 7-7-7 bonus in spanish 21 or 7 card 21? They list both of those. |

Re: Current blackjack conditions at Reno NV
um...I think both me and OP are the ones that have the basics down already, thanks.
Rule of X, in this case 7, refers to a policy in single deck blackjack where the number of hands dealt before shuffle is based on the number of players at the table. for instance, if the table is RO7 and 4 people are playing, the dealer will deal 3 hands before shuffling (3 + 4 = 7). if 2 players, then 5 hands. tables are generally RO7 or RO6, the extra hand improves penetration greatly so that's why mr. weasals was inquiring. "rule of" is somewhat fading due to the more modern policy of using shuffle cards, and pit-specific policies on mid-shoe bet limits and unit spreads. that and the more obvious fact that 3:2 single deck blackjack is on the downward bell curve towards extinction. |

I know the basics of blackjack and I wasn't trying to teach you ( God forbid ) or the OP about blackjack. The fact is that the OP asked about Rule of X, doubling and minimums. 2 of those are listed in CBJN. I also stated that CBJN listed pen, which you reported. There is always a possibility that the OP did not know about CBJN and my first post was just giving him the info. If you read my 2nd post you will see that I was not assuming anything about Rule of 7. I was asking what it was. By your own admission, rule of X is fading. I wasn't aware of it because I have only played in Vegas, where there is almost no real single deck, and AC where there is none. Yes, I'm sure you know those basics. By the way, I do appreciate your explanation. |

Hi all,
Yes, I know what CBJN is and I used to subscribe to it. Double on 10/11 at Peppermill, eh? That sucks. Can I get anything better if i play $25 a hand? or does that get me an early exit? |

Re: Current blackjack conditions at Reno NV
my CBJN is not very current, it is from October. The pen matched what was reported by playersare so it may still be the same. They list $25 as h17, no double restrictions.

[/ QUOTE ] Nope. It's all d10 at Peppermill. Betting $25 a hand will make you a welcome customer. Spreading big with the count will help you find the exit. |
