What does this mean, and is it a good idea?
My PC has been having issues lately (locking up when turned on, sometimes it will lock again and maybe a 3rd time), and the PCs website says to do this...
---- Turn the computer on. Press the F8 key repeatedly when the first screen appears, about once every second, until a menu appears. Use the Up Arrow or Down Arrow keys to select Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu (1st) or Last known good configuration (2nd). ----- The bolded part worries me. What would that do? Would it delete a lot of my files? Please help, I'm trying to stop the lockups, but don't want to do more damage by wiping out my data. |
