Default NL 100 - I cannot believe I just folded this set

Okay, villain is mliang, a 12/3/1 TAG. I don't think I've ever seen him get out of line, nor would I think so with his stats. Therefore, I cannot see him pushing a flush draw or a strong ace. Also, preflop I probably raise this 75% of the time, cold call 25% of the time. It's also funny because a few weeks ago I said on here I hardly ever fold sets, and here I am folding one because it seemed so obvious to me that he either had A,A or 7,7. The one thing that almost kept me from folding was that he knows I play combo draws fast, and possibly he did just have a strong ace.

Would you have folded?

Seems pretty standard.

On the flop if this guy is any at all he has AA/77 all the time he sees you reraising a bet and a raiser...You likely raise a big ace that you would play hard on the flop and don't go overboard with it if you didn't raise preflop. You're repping 33/77/A7/A3. If he has A3 beaten (pretty safe assumption) you beat one hand, if he has A7 beaten you beat no hands and with the action the way it was you have A7/33/77 alot more than you have A3/anything else. But it really depends if he can see past his cards which even if he couldn't are better than yours anyways.

I say good fold. He has 77 90+% of the time here.

12/3/1 is not TAG, it's just tight passive.

nice fold, obv he's got 77

i would probably just call the flop and reevaluate the turn, folding to another strong bet.

Threebetting is clearly the suck, because he's folding everything you beat to it.

I think this fold is horrible.

Can villian not have A7s or A3s here? Not to mention that AA is unlikely because villian limped?

no, he can't

and he's a 1%pfr who open limped, so AA is easily in his range.

IMO, A7 or A3 are much more likely here. On the other hand, when you re not folding at this point, you re most definetely playing for stacks, except third flush card comes on turn that slows him down...

And while I generally never open-limp from MP+, when I'm playing around the 12% range I certainly find spots to play Axs.
