Toshiba Laptop video problem
Hi,
I have a Toshiba Qosmio G15 Laptop. Lately, whenever I turn the computer on, there is a 2 inch wide white vertical stripe that covers part of the screen. This lasts about 5 minutes, and then goes away. It is only on the laptop LCD, and does not appear on an external monitor. Now, I notice I have a very thin vertical line that will not go away on the right side of the screen. I tried to google this, but I was unable to come up with anything similar. The laptop is out of warranty. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Toshiba Laptop video problem
So the white vertical stripe is only there when you turn it on.
It persists in windows? If you leave the computer on for a while, then turn it off, then back on right away is it there? When the white stripe goes away is the thin vertical line that persists one of the edges of the former stripe? It sounds like some of the transistors on the screen are going out (the white stripe problem is very strange to me). You're out of options outside replacing the screen, IMO |

CORRECT If you leave the computer on for a while, then turn it off, then back on right away is it there? YES, EVERY TIME. When the white stripe goes away is the thin vertical line that persists one of the edges of the former stripe? NO, THAT LINE IS COMPLETELY SEPARATE AND NEVER GOES AWAY. It sounds like some of the transistors on the screen are going out (the white stripe problem is very strange to me). IS THIS GONNA COST ME A LOT? You're out of options outside replacing the screen, IMO THANKS FOR THE HELP. [/ QUOTE ] |
