Re: WTF News - July
[ QUOTE ]
Scroll down a few stories to the one about the old man and the cow... http://www.lawyersweekly.com.au/arti...p;Category=845 [/ QUOTE ] I like the one about the Indian guy who purified his lower caste students by peeing on them. India's social system is so unrepentantly preposterously backwards it's amazing. Compared to them, Al Qaeda seems democratic. |

Re: WTF News - July
Not sure if this qualifies as WTF? but I didn't know where else to post it. This particular activity never struck me as that much fun. Maybe it's a guy thing? Running of the Bulls Can Be Dangerous! "We will definitely be back again," Lawrence Lenahan said. "My brother will never run (in the festival) again, but he would like to come back to celebrate." Lol. |

Wow, I didn't realize they still wore these things in all the courtrooms. I thought it was just Parliament or something.
"However, the idea of abolishing them has met with disapproval from some lawyers who feel the wigs give them an air of authority as well as anonymity." Wigs off as Britain ends courtroom tradition |

Woman's kid dies when she treats his fall with popsicle stick instead of trip to hospital: Death by dumbness [/ QUOTE ] Sadly this does not really surprise me. There are so many parents that over react to the slightest things and obviously others that do not. This story really saddens me (from Fox news) [ QUOTE ] Baby Born Drunk: Blood Alcohol Six Times Legal Limit to Drive A baby boy in Poland was born drunk. Doctors decided to check his blood-alcohol level because his mother was drunk when she arrived to give birth. What they saw frightened them. A doctor tells the PAP news agency that 12 hours after he was born, the boy had a blood-alcohol level six times the legal limit for driving. That means he was drunk before he was even born. He weighed five pounds, seven ounces at birth. Doctors say the baby will likely suffer permanent neurological damage from his mother's drinking. [/ QUOTE ] |

Yeah I saw that one too. It's a shame that society seems completely at a loss as to how to prevent things like this.
