Re: Rio Floor Decision
Certain rules do exist in tournaments that don't in cash games, but this is a matter of basic procedures that are the same either way.
What if utg had quietly announced all-in but hadn't pushed any chips forward yet, utg also conceals his cards, the dealer doesn't hear it because someone is distracting them, then the button pushes all-in? Well, it's a tournament, so they'll have to stay Mr. Button. Absolutes don't work well in poker. "Because it's a tournament" doesn't make absolutes work better. Besides, the floor may make any decision they believe to be in the best interest in preserving the fairness and integrity of the game. So while I do respect your opinions Chip, I still disagree. |

[ QUOTE ] I don't agree with this "chips can't be removed from the pot because it's a tournament" idea. It makes it sound like everything's totally different because it's a tourney, which is baloney. [/ QUOTE ] Everything is different because it's a tourney. There are rules in place in tourneys that dont exist in cash games. [/ QUOTE ] Is anybody else's Ohh, the irony! buzzer going off? When making reference to rules that exist for tourneys you should probably KNOW those rules first Chip. |

Re: Rio Floor Decision
Give Chipr a break. He works for a Harrahs property. It's quite possible that what he's saying is Gospel where he works.
