Because you had [censored] teams having 40+% of their FGA as threes. The average in the NBA is around 21% with Phoenix leading at 29%.

Just an example, but only 2 teams shot less than 30% threes (they shot 28%) per game in the Big Ten this year, with PSU the leader at 42%.

just want to note how stupid this move is according to those that have studied it

the experimental college games with an int'l line the past few years have had almost the same success percentage from 3 point land, but slower tempos.

Moving the line out forces teams to take longer in their sets. There is not a discernible difference between shooting 19 9 and 20 9. Have to go out to NBA land if you want to change the game.
