yeah, but its going to require some really good postflop play. I'd only do that against an ABC player when I know there betting patterns/tendencies

omg, almost the same situation just happened to me, while I was reading this thread (only he had a7s).

I raised utg 3.5bb he cc..I ended up stacking him with AQ.

Moral: it's a bad play

If UTG is bad, I'll call here often. I feel I'm a better postflop player than preflop player tbh, and I want to see cheap flops in position against bad players. If the blinds are loose we might end up 3 or 4 way with a NFD, which is nice.

If UTG is good, just fold. His range is tight enough, and if you catch 2flush and he catches a piece he's willing to payoff with, there's no way you'll be given the right price to draw. Obvious domination issues to worry about if you catch an ace high flop.

I think you need closer to 150BB, maybe 200BB to make this a profitable call.

UTG raises too few hands for this to be a profitable call

I often wonder about what others probably consider fairly simple/standard preflop stuff like this too.

... but I fold.

if the villan is really bad, or even slighty bad I might call this once in a while. if another player calls before the action comes to me I am almost always calling

Easy fold w/o reads. With postflop reads, I call a lot.
