Default FT200 I squeeze and the other guy calls

Full Tilt Poker, $1/$2 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

UTG: $229
MP: $203.60
CO: $246
BTN: $179.10
Hero (SB): $446
BB: $206.15

Pre-Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
2 folds, CO raises to $7, BTN calls $7, Hero raises to $29, 2 folds, BTN calls $22

Flop: ($67) T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero ..?

BTN is 44/12/2/25 .

If I bet I'm probably folding out most underpairs. If I check I'm giving KQ/AQ/AK etc a free card, but he may also bluff because 3-betting and checking looks really weak. On the other hand there is 67 in the pot and he started with 179 so he only has 150 left. I am protected against an ace though (if he has Ax and not KQ).

So just bet or something else?

Bet/call, he might bluff raise you on this flop and it prevents you from getting outdrawn.

You would bet your air on this flop, so bet your good hands as well.

Against an unknown (but likely fish) who likely has reasonable equity on this flop? I wouldn't be so sure of that.

btn is 44/12 ... balancing our range is not an issue here.

Main reason I find to bet this flop is to protect against AK/AQ hitting their K or Q or a low pair hitting a set, which is 2-3 outs (for whatever hand they have). Other than that, I think he folds out a fair few worse hands and never folds better hands. So I would probably check flop.

The interesting thing is what we do if he bets.

Bet/call 45-50. He might still put you on AK and call with underpairs.

Just to post my reasons for the bet/call:

Let him make the tough choice. If you bet 3/4 pot here he's commited to his whole stack if he wants to continue. Put him to this choice.

If he has 22-99 it can look like a good flop for him, paired board and a flush draw, he must feel he has a good chance at being ahead.

Also it's better to be aggressive because next time you 3 bet and miss the flop you want your c-bet to work.
