$10nl - AJ - turn decision ?
Villian is 36/12/2 over 130 hands
His flop checkraised made me believe he had a small pp and was using the ace to try and get a read how strong i was. I was pretty sure i was ahead here as the only had i'm afraid of is something with a 7 in it as any ace stonger than mine is part of his preflop raising range. Is reraising in possition a mistake here against this type of villian, and would the best way to extract maximum value in this situation would be to just flat call his turn bet and hope he makes a desperation bluff on the river ? I'm figuring he's put me on +TT-KK so would flat calling the turn make it clear to him that i'm not affraid of the ace? Although pushing the turn also gives him the same information. Re: $10nl - AJ - turn decision ?
I like checking the flop here. Not many scare cards peel the turn and against someone who seems agg. (from stats) it's best to let him bluff at the pot.

Meh besides betting a little more on the flop this seems fine.

Re: $10nl - AJ - turn decision ?
Why not call the turn and try to get it in on the river? He's almost never drawing here to more than 2 outs. So if he has a hand, you can get it in on the river just as likely, and if he doesn't, you're definitely better off letting him fire again on the river.

Re: $10nl - AJ - turn decision ?
Well... he plays 36% of his hands, that includes suited Kings and suited Queens, doesn´t it?
Am I the only one who´s afraid of a 7 here? |

I think I prefer calling the turn and c/c river.

Re: $10nl - AJ - turn decision ?
you played this fine. If you really like you can flat call the turn with the intention of getting the rest in on the river (especially if you have some sort of note that hell just keeping betting till he gets raised) but more often than not if hes folding to the turn raise he probably isnt gonna fire again at the river.
