Default Flopped 2 pair vs calling station (pro edition), what\'s the best play?

In the big blind with 96o, unraised to me so checked to see the flop.

Flopped two pair, not bad I thought. SB comes out firing at less than 1/5 of the pot, but I raise to protect two pair from possible straight draw. Turn brings a card I didn't want to see...should I have raised more on the flop or called after him? Or folded?

Read on SB - passive calling station and almost always limps in an unraised pot.

No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

SB ($25)
Hero ($25.81)
UTG ($24.80)
MP ($11.06)
CO ($13.46)
Button ($23.31)

Preflop:
Hero is BB with , .
2 folds, CO calls $0.25, Button calls $0.25, SB completes, Hero checks.

Flop: ($5.12)
, , (2 players)
SB bets $0.75, Hero raises to $2.25, CO folds, Button folds, SB calls $1.50.

Turn: $5.12)
(2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $3, SB calls $3.

River: $11.12)
(2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: $11.12

Results below:
phishcake shows [ 8c, 7h ]a straight Five to Nine.
Hero doesn't show [ 6h, 9s ]two pairs, Nines and Sixes.
SB wins $10.45 USD from the main pot with a straight, Five to Nine.

Edit: ignore this please. FTR converter sucks ._.

Well he either has a seven, or wants a seven... I think that you are a little too marginal on the turn to be betting, I'd rather control the pot a little and call a river bet. Given that you are likely wa/wb on the turn I'd rather just get to SD.

Preflop and flop look fine to me, note that the converter is misreporting the flop pot size so it looks like your raise is too small but in fact I think its okay.

This post is totally useless and serves no purpose but to make you look stupid. Do you have a comment on the hand at all? If not, don't post.

but I raise to protect two pair from possible straight draw.

[/ QUOTE ]If you want to raise to protect from the SD (and you do want to) you have to offer odds that are unattractive to and adequately charge a SD. Make it pot sized (raise to ~$6.50).

[/ QUOTE ]

The converter is mis-representing the size of the pot, I dont think the pot is $5 as it stands as there was no raise preflop. Therefore I think the raise size is fine.

Explain whats goin on. If you did edit the HH then you need to come clean. It seems like you called a raise with the 96 which would explain the pot size. If this is the case the hand is totally different because the ranges for villain are different and our advice is useless.

Argh!!

Ok, that FTR converter totally screwed up my hand, I'm converting everything myself from now on. For some reason it thought the turn pot was the same as the flop one...

This is the actual hand that I pasted into FTR (I changed me to hero and villian to SB below) and it gave the above crap, and I was typing while looking at the stuff FTR gave me and not really checking if it was right.

wow - is it that time of the month? the reason i say that is b/c if OP is changing the hand history - our advice is useless...

As we have found out - it was an FTR error - but OP really needed to fix his post for us to really help him b/c if he called this pf against a raise, then the advice is fold pf, thread over.
