You want to bet to build the pot to stack someone and not necessarily to protect your hand.

You want people to put you on AK and call at least one street with their pocket pair or you want them to try to raise you off your rags.

There are also metagame concerns that I personally don't concern myself with.

you think betting into 5 people looks like AK?

Bet, there are so many hands that will give you action now but won't later.

I think some people are underestimating how much you can get from a "6-outer" like AJ that hits the turn. But some people will be cautious on at least some of their overcards (the A in the case of AJ), and maybe on both of them. And even if there are more outs to make a good one pair hand for someone than gutshot and oversets outs, you always stack off to the latter, and do not usually stack the one pairs.

Let T9, JJ, TT, 88, etc. put money in now, bet small enough that some [censored] might peel with overcards or a 5. Just under half pot/45k sounds good.

Wow there is almost no danger to giving free cards here, but having said that, I'd bet like 30k because some idiot will think that looks weak and raise you

Yeah I'd just make a weak lead, you're more likely to let a gutshot or bigger pocket pair draw out on you (and therefore stack you) than to have AJ or something make a pair and go apeshit. 45K sounds good.
