According to ESPN, Norv wasn't picked because he wanted to possibly run the 4-3 with Rivera being the D-Coordinator. With Dallas spending rediculous picks on 3-4 type guys, J. Jones needed a 3-4 type coach.

Locally, they are saying it was because Turner demanded more power than Jones was willing to give. Seems he understood it was not the same Cowboys organization that he had worked for before.
