So, knowing no more than the OP did at the time, should hero bet more or less on the flop? Why?

I think both shoving and checking are better.

Shoving is obv. fine and when you check you always have an easy turn decision (check again if it bricks). Betting this amount on the flop leaves room for the not unlikely scenario where he calls your flop bet and open shoves any turn, which sucks very, very hard.

You shouldn't bet less bc if you bet 7 or something it starts to become a marginal decision between calling and folding. It is probably a good idea to bet more bc you are committed to the hand once you bet anyway and a psb should theoretically have more FE.
