cd drive/tray problem plz help a computer illiterate

so yesterday i was trying to burn a cd for someone, and itunes said "disc burner hardware/software failure" great. i tried other things like nero, didnt work when it said successful burn. tried another, and it made me locate the burner. it was not there. so today, call buddy on phone, who knows a thing or two. he told me to pop in a disc. now the tray doesnt open at all. i hate computers. please help me out guys [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]
