Default KO count

With a 6 deck game do you start your count at -24? I'm not an expert at unbalanced counts. It seems logical that the pivot is always 0, but I can't remember for sure

The pivot is 6*n away from the IRC, with n = number of decks.

The book assumes the pivot is at +4, probably because it correlates to TC +4. So it uses IRC=-20. But there's nothing wrong with shifting to IRC=-24, pivot=0.

If it's 6*n and here n is 6 and the IRC is -20, then 36 away from that would be 16 wouldn't it? (6*6=36-20=16)

Sorry, 4*n. You're counting 4 extra cards per deck compared to a balanced count. In a system like Red 7 where you're only counting the 7d,7h, it would be 2*n.
