Default Want Poker/Gambling Questions

I wasn't real good answering questions in the other format because it was kind of inconvenient. Now it should be easier. And even if I choose not to reply to a thread, others usually will.

Please make the questions as short as possible and make them amenable to short answers as well. Longer questions or those that require longer answers are much less likely to get my attention. Especially during this poker/Christmas season.

Limit holdem, typical game, late position against an early position raiser: of the hands that you would normally fold to two bets, which ones would you call with if two others had cold called?

Default Can Powerball be EV+?

can powerball be +EV? imagine if the jackpot was bigger than the chances of winning ie; 500M and your chances of winning were like 1/ 100m. I know that it can be +EV to play video poker when the royal flush bonus is high enough. and for certain slot machines. please explain, and how you would take advantage of a 1B or 10Billion dollar powerball jackpot, if you had unlimited funds.

Thanx!

Default blackjack

Can blackjack be beat if dealer wins pushes on 17, assuming the other rules favor the player? (6-deck shoe with 100% penetration, counting & bet-size changes are allowed, insurance and surrender are available, etc.)

With 100% penetration and an infinite spread, yes. Even baccarat can be beaten under with 100% pen and an infinite spread.

Now, a deck cut off of six and a 1:20 spread might be an interesting question. You would now surrender many hard 17s as they are no better than 16. They can't win unless the dealer busts.
