Default NL25: Baby set on a monotone flop

Villain seems somewhat loose and passive preflop but shows some postflop aggression. Stats 30/0/3.4 after ~40 hands.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

Hero (SB): $24.35
BB: $27.85
UTG: $15.05
MP: $27.10
CO: $14.95
BTN: $37.40

Preflop: Hero is dealt 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6 Players)
UTG calls $0.25, MP folds, CO calls $0.25, BTN folds, Hero calls $0.15, BB checks

Flop: ($1) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 Players)
<font color="red">Hero bets $1.00</font>, 2 folds, <font color="red">CO raises to $2.00</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to $6.25</font>

Had villain made a decent-sized raise I would've pushed. I decided to pot it after the minraise instead of pushing, planning to push any non-spade turn UI. Should I be inclined to push here anyway regardless of the small size of the pot to protect my hand?
