Default bought a house to rent out

Any interest in me posting before/after pictures as I go through the remodeling process? I'd like to get some input on potential improvements as I go along.

I would be interested in hearing about your process. I am buying some rental properties as well but have been focusing on properties that need little work since I am still a noob in estimating the costs.

What city are you in and how do you feel about the rental market as well as the expected appreciation?

How do you suggest going about this if you are young and have maybe like 2 partners with not that much savings

Does anyone have any experience buying run down houses to fix up and rent? I'd be really interested to hear about anyone's success or failure stories.

The house is in Winona, MN. It's a block and a half from a 8000 student university so finding renters shouldn't be a problem.
Even when other markets in the area have performed poorly Winona's has continued to grow so i'm confident that as long as the university is growing, the market will as well.

Getting a loan will be your biggest challenge. I would start by looking into your options there.

My advice would be not to do it at all. There's just too much that can go wrong if something were to happen to one of your partners or to you i.e. health or financial.
