Default Places to stay close to Foxwoods?

Going to be in CT at my inlaws for T-Giving and I want to get out of there on Friday and head to Foxwoods. But...Foxwoods rooms are sold out. Are there any hotels nearby that are recommended? Or - anyone have any advice on how to score a room at Foxwoods? I've never been there, so don't have any player card or anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks,
JKeats

Hilltop inn, 3 miles down the street is pretty good and relatively cheap. They opened a new hotel next to the Hilltop, don't recall the name exactly.

I haven't stayed there, but it was significantly more money when I looked. If I'm at the Hilltop, it is a 4am-10am nap, dont pay much attention to anything else. Room is always clean.....Thanks for the heads up on Bellisimo though. Hopefully we will be able to get a weekend poker rate once the MGM opens and Mohegan gets a poker room.

There is a town called groton that has cheap 50-60/night hotels: Super 8, Howard Johnson's, Knight's Inn, etc. These hotels truly give you 60 dollars worth of hotel so watch out. For example, the Knight's Inn includes such amenities as soap and clock, but bring yr own shampoo....

Also, you can try the Bellissimo/Hilltop 'trick': show up at 3-4AM and say, "I got 80-100 one dollar bills, whadya have? and yes, I'd like late check out."

Just stayed at the Hilltop Inn Saturday night. I got a price of $110 for 2 people. The room was clean and the location was very convenient to get to the casino. Also has a shuttle that runs every half hour I believe. I would highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to stay that is reasonable priced. I will definitely be back.
