What about flopping top set on a 3-suited board? Do you just check-call and hope the board pairs?

Okay... I may have a problem then because I would have folded here.. ouch.. harsh.

wow. i admire the heart it takes to fold in that spot but that really is the wrong play .

Thanks for the sideways compliment lol. I am glad I read this post. I can see I need to be more agressive and less 'nitty'. I thought I was, but clearly I need to think about it some more.

I am wondering though if this situation exists at a fullring table would you all agree to shove here?

Depends on villian. If villian is nut peddler you can fold because on flop you can not get pot odds to call. Against aggressive players you can felt it.

Janelle,

Rather than considering how you fare vs the nuts only, figure out how you are doing vs his entire hand range..

No. Chasing boats on flush boards is a huge leak. The scenario deoesn't really apply anyways because it's rare that an OOP player will bet out into a 3-suit board, especially when it has been 3-bet preflop.

Calling a PSB hoping to see the board pair is a leak, of course, but calling a 25c bet to win a 1$ pot for example seems standard to me..

Hey everyone,

Thanks for all the replies. Results are below. My thoughts at the time was I was pretty wary of JTxx and hence why I called, however after the hand I realised just putting the guy on this hand was (or at least weighting it heavily) was very weak and he would do the same with QQ, 99, maaaaybe AA (he is a total unknown after all but probably 4-bets pre) and 2 pair type of hands as others have said. Turn plays itself after a check. I think a shove is best on the flop.

Full Tilt Poker - Pot Limit Omaha Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $26.35
BB: $17.65
UTG: $24.65
CO: $54.05
Hero (BTN): $26.80

Preflop: Hero is dealt 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG raises to $0.85, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.90, 2 folds, UTG calls $2.05

Flop: ($6.15) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
UTG bets $6.15, Hero calls $6.15

Turn: ($18.45) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
UTG checks, Hero bets all-in for $17.75, UTG calls all-in for $15.60
Uncalled bet of $2.15 returned to Hero

River: ($49.65) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $49.65 ($2.45 Rake)

UTG showed [J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] and lost with a straight, King high
Hero (button) showed [5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]] and won ($47.20) with a full house, Kings full of Queens

Thanks again
