Michael Kay is a giant douche, but c'mon the Tigers would have to go 5-0 and the Yankees 0-5 for the rest of the season in order for the Yankees to not make the playoffs. That's gotta be, what, like 500-1 against?

Also, I don't get the Yankees. Make a crazy, balls out, month-long run at the division title, get to within 2 games with 6 left, and then throw the B team at the Devil Rays? Igawa, Ramirez, Bruney, Villone, Britton, Farnsworth, Veras, Karstens????? WTF??? Will any of these guys even throw a pitch in the postseason???

Could be a blessing in disguise though that they get the wildcard since it's pretty well locked in now that they'll play the Indians. The Yankees are 6-0 against the Indians this year and 3-6 against the Angels. Also, the Yankees and Indians will probably get the series that gets the extra rest day so they can go with Pettitte and Wang for 4 games and only have to use Clemens once. Of course they'll have to face Sabathia and Carmona 4 times, but they never seem to matchup well with the Angels.

I don't know. What I do know is that there's only one guy out of the 8 that pitched tonight with a sub-4 ERA.

Just seems like Torre didnt really care about winning tonight's game. Then again, most managers never use their closers late in tied games on the road. I never understood that, but that's a discussion for another thread I suppose.

Also, Vizcaino is better than everyone else that pitched tonight, too.
