Did I miss out on this chick?

First of all no pictures, since (as you'll see) I never thought to take them. If that disappoints you too much, turn away now.

I'm basically horrible at understanding when chicks show interest in me. They'll do stuff that's "obvious" to them, but is so [censored] subtle so as to be unnoticeable.

So today I'm walking back from a lunch meeting that went really really well. I was kind of on cloud nine all zoned out. On the way back to work there were a bunch of college students pimping Children International. There was a group of three chicks standing with their little clipboards, and I was about 12 feet away when I made eye contact with one.

I looked at her suspiciously because I knew she'd come up and try to get me to donate (to CI, not sperm. Though maybe sperm. Who knows). She gave me the same look back and we both kind of smirked as I got closer, like, "game on bitches." In the sense that she was going to try to part me with my moderately hard earned money.

Before she could say anything I said, "it's great what you're doing, but I have to get back to work." She asked where I work, I told her a couple blocks away she could escort me. She walked about half a block with me asking stuff about what I do, where I'm from, then says, "well I won't walk you the whole way, but I'd love to tell you all about this if you ever have more time." I say thanks, have a good one, and keep walking.

Didn't really think anything of it, as I said I was zoned out. When I got closer to work I thought about it a bit more...she knew right off the bat I knew what was going on (with her asking for donations), that I wasn't interested, and she still walked and talked to me for a bit. Then there's that bit about "well I'd love to tell you more..." which could have just been an easy excuse to hang out.

Obv response is to abruptly stop and say, "Hrm. I'd love to say that's intriguing because you work for a humanitarian organization that helps children, but really it's just that cute hat" and tug on her (admittedly very cool) hat.

Grr. This was supposed to be a lot shorter. Anyway do you guys think this chick was showing any interest in me, other than trying to get donations for CI? This kind of stuff happens to me periodically and I never have any clue until it's far too late.
