Default Re: Six Handed: Dutch Boyd/Phil Hellmuth: Poker Behavior???

[ QUOTE ]
Long, long ago, maybe 1990, I saw Phil Hellmuth put on the worst, most offensive, sickening, bullying performance against a very old man who had drawn him out in a World Series tournament at Binion's Horseshoe. He stood up and yelled. This went on for a few minutes, a long, long time. No one else said anything. No one called the floor. No matter what Phil Hellmuth does in life, that will always be my defining memory of him.

[/ QUOTE ]

I wonder if this could be the same situation as Thor Hansen has described to a norwegian poker magazine (Norsk Pokermagasin). There he said that he played together with Phil Hellmuth on a table during a WSOP event, and there was an old man there who played a bad hand badly against Phil, and somehow ended up winning the hand. Phil had then started to berate the old man for a long time, ending in the old man leaving the tournament, saying something like "If this is what poker is like, it's not for me".

According to Thor Hansen he really ripped into Phil for treating the old man that way, and it resulted in Thor and Phil not speaking for five years.
