Re: $50NL: JJ and lost on turn/river
Villain has a big pair but is trying to keep the pot small because he's afraid someone flopped a set.

Re: $50NL: JJ and lost on turn/river
For a guy that is 26/15 you are playing pretty tight here to be flat calling with JJ, I'd bump it up to 8 or 9 preflop and go from there. Obviously if he reraises, you have to reevaluate, but I feel like that makes the rest of the hand easier to play.
Here, however, he has shown strength by check calling and then leading the turn - if he is tricky, he could have trapped with AA or KK, but is highly unlikely given the preferred play of a limp reraise in his spot and the fact that he didnt lead the flop or check raise the flop - most of the time a c/c then donk here is a player with a set springing to life. I can see him playing 22 55 77 the same way. I feel like a flopped set might be because of the fact he check called, slowplaying and seeing if he can get an overcall and betting a safe nondiamond turn. |
