The real joke is that a seasoned politician running for leader of the free world can utter such a remark to pander to a particular crowd and then wave it away as a "joke", and then take the moral high ground. Of course, he is a presidential hopeful, so its not like I expected him to say anything substantive, but I was disappointed by this. I was of the (obviously naive) opinion that McCain was above tactics such as this.
